John B. Pope, M.D.

 

John B. Pope, M.D., a native of Tampa, is a graduate of Williams College and the Indiana University School of Medicine. He interned and served his Residency and Chief Residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the Montefiore Medical Center of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. While a resident, he received the Montefiore Service Excellence Award, an award rarely given to a Resident Physician; he was the first Orthopaedic Resident to receive this honor. He completed a Fellowship in Adult Reconstructive Surgery and Joint Replacement at the combined Southern Joint Replacement Institute and Orthopaedic Institute Program at Vanderbilt University.

Dr. Pope is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the prestigious American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons. He has authored several academic articles and conducted research in fracture treatment and improvements in total hip replacement surgery. Dr. Pope specializes in minimally invasive total hip and knee replacements, total joint revision surgery, computer-navigated arthroplasty techniques, hip resurfacing, and partial knee replacements.

Dr. Pope and his wife, Kathleen, a practicing pediatrician live in South Tampa with their two children, Ryan and Mary.
