MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging)

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a non-invasive, diagnostic imaging technique that utilizes a strong magnetic field and low energy electromagnetic waves to produce images of internal body organs and tissue. MRI has proven to be invaluable to the diagnosis of a broad range of conditions, including joint and musculoskeletal disorders and diseases of the knee, shoulder, spine, hips, wrists and hands. Magnetic resonance imaging scans are painless and have no know side effects.

The Hitachi Airis open MRI unit is a patient friendly, and designed for comfort. The Airis open design has proven to lower anxiety-levels of claustrophobic patients and is capable of accommodating patients weighing up to 450 lbs. The open MRI center offers patients high quality diagnostic imaging services in a caring and friendly environment.

Appointments are generally scheduled within a few days by calling 347-1286 ext 254 or email to abrown@tampabayortho.com. Magnetic resonance imaging scans are performed at the MRI center by order of your physician .Same-day service may be requested by physicians when felt necessary.

Insurance:
It is important that we confirm that the specific test you are having done is covered by your insurance company. Your insurance company may require pre-authorization, which must be obtained by your physician.

We are a participating provider with most major medical insurance companies and health plans. We will submit your claim, and any secondary claims, under the appropriate benefit coverage, including workers compensation, auto insurance and personal injury, on your behalf. You will be responsible for any co-payment required at the time of your test.

*If you are self-insured, payment is due before your test is performed. Payment can be made by cash, check or credit card.
