Dr. Raviinder Parmar grew up in Naples, Florida. He completed his undergraduate studies at University of Florida. He earned his medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was in medical school that Dr. Parmar discovered his desire for helping those afflicted with pain. He took a one year sabbatical to conduct research on degenerative joint diseases at the prestigious Rothman Institute in Philadelphia.
During his year at the Rothman Institute, Dr. Parmar published several journal articles, book chapters and presented his research at national conferences. He completed a surgical intern year at Loyola University Medical Center and a residency in Anesthesiology at Harbor UCLA Medical Center, Los Angeles, California.
Dr. Parmar continued his education with a Pain Medicine fellowship at the world renowned UC Davis Center for Pain Medicine, which was recently selected as a Clinical Center of Excellence and a Pain Medicine Fellowship of Excellence. He is fluent in English, Spanish and Punjabi. In his free time he enjoys exploring nature, watching his favorite sports teams and spending time with his family and friends. Dr. Parmar joined Tampa Bay Orthopaedic Specialists in 2016.
